Giles Norman, a self taught photographer, exhibits and sells a unique and exceptional collection of black & white landscape photographs in his shop in Kinsale.
Behind the doors of the Giles Norman darkroom, state-of-the-art digital technology has now replaced outmoded analogue processing techniques. Rest assured, however, that the timeless quality you've come to expect of the finished photography is as tantalizingly present as it ever was.
Recent innovations such as photo-black pigment inks and archival inkjet paper meant that the transition to the digital domain was a thoroughly seamless and artistically beneficial process.
Not only have all existing negatives been painstakingly scanned and remastered. Giles is now also shooting new and original material digitally.
"The technology gives me more freedom, more flexibility, and of course more time behind the camera to concentrate on the creative side of photography - after all that is what fuels my passion for this art form."
